Greenstone is served by the El Dorado Irrigation District. Structural fire protection is provided by El Dorado Volunteer Fire Dept., and wildland fire protection is provided by Division of Forestry. The road system is a series of "looping" roads  providing good fire access to the development.

 Police protection is provided by the El Dorado County Sheriff's Department. Sewage is accomplished by use of septic tanks and leach fields. Data from percolation tests indicates percolation rates averaging around 60 minutes/inch. Solid Waste Disposal is serviced by the Dorado County sanitary land fill on Union Mine Road. Solid waste weekly pick-up service is provided for a fee.
