Auburn Lake Trails
Cool, CA,

Directions to ALT

From Sacramento, take Highway 80 East.

At Auburn, take the Elm Street Exit, and Turn Left at the stop light.

Follow the signs for Highway 49. You will go down to the bottom of the American River Canyon and up the other side (it’s 7 miles, a very scenic curvy road over the river)

On the other side of the canyon you will find rural downtown Cool- and a flashing red stop light at Country Kitchen.

Turn Left at the flashing stop light on to Highway 193 (heading toward Georgetown); Auburn Lake Trails is approximately 1 mile, on the left hand side.

It is a gated community, so in order to view property inside, you will need  a realtor and have them escort you. Michael Orcutt, Horse Property Specialist, lives in the Trails and will be glad to meet you at the gate for a tour.

Note: See black house dot on Hwy 193, this is Main entrance to Auburn Lake Trails. If you continue down Hwy 193 you will pass through Greenwood onto Georgetown about 15 minutes away; this is a quaint mining town with good restaurants and more staging areas. Continue other way on Hwy 49 you will pass Marshall Rd, (the turn off for Garden Valley) and then come to Coloma ,also about 15 min from Cool. Coloma is where they first discovered Gold in California and home of some of the best river rafting in California on the south fork of the American River. If you turn right off of Hwy 49 on Lotus Rd., at the Sierra Nevada House, just past the river, you will reach Hwy 50 in about 15 minutes, which is a much less windy way to access Hwy 50 via Rescue and Shingle Springs--- and you are then minutes to El Dorado Hills and Folsom, then SAC.
