Placer County is home to the Auburn State Recreation Area, containing numerous horse trails along the scenic rivers, canyons, lakes and meadowlands to trail ride in. Placer County is home to abundant wildlife – birds, fish, bugs, bears, deer, mountain lions, and more. You name it; they probably got it. Hidden Falls Regional Park, operated by the Placer County Parks and Grounds Department, contains hiking, running, biking, and equestrian trails, ranging in length from .1 to 3.7 miles, with difficulty ratings from ADA Accessible to Easy to Moderate to Difficult. The Loomis Basin Horsemen’s Association turns 30 this year, and members say it’s as active as ever in keeping the area’s equestrian culture alive. We’re pretty much committed to Placer County, and that encompasses a lot of trails – everything from the Western States trails (home of the 100 mile Tevis Cup endurance ride)to the Pioneer Express trails along Folsom Lake to Hidden Falls Regional Park for the county.
