DESCRIPTION:
This ranch lies approx. 6 miles north of HWY 60
equally between Quemado, NM and Springerville, AZ and is
nestled in a peaceful, private, beautifully green
landscaped cul-de-sac setting. There are two homes to
live in: a custom 2-story 2-bedroom log home made of 10"
logs with covered porches and impressive stone fireplace
fitted with cranes for cooking and an electric stone
heating unit, gorgeous country kitchen, comfy living
area, washer/dryer room, full bath, just plain cozy and
extremely well built!
The second home is a 2-story 3-brdroom lodge which
the owners reside in. It has everything from "his" room
to "hers", beautiful views across the homestead area
through large sliding doors in the living and country
kitchen areas, plus another washer/dryer room and a
walk-in pantry.
A two-story barn has 4 stalls plus 3 tack rooms. The
upstairs is used for hay storage.
Next to the barn are a very large chicken house and
run, a shoeing barn, as well as a 10’x50’ dog kennel.
Wow
–
these folks thought of everything!
And to top it off, horse lovers will appreciate the
large arena and round pen, cross-fencing, and the fact
that the ranch is fenced all-round!
Trail riding possibilities are practically endless
due to the fact that on two sides the ranch abuts to BLM.
The other two sides border a very large cattle ranch.
The gardens are nicely done with auto-sprinkled grass
–
all the ranch’s water is generated from two wells which
pump water into two holding tanks
–
rose bushes, wildflower patches, a large fenced
vegetable garden, a small corn field
–
do I need to mention more?
The nearby area offers lots of additional recreation:
Within 1½ hours drive time you can go fishing at Lake
Quemado and on the Arizona side, visit the Apache Ski
Area in the White Mountains of Arizona, and visible from
the ranch and in easy riding distance is a volcanic
garden which has become a Nature Study Area. A little
further east lie Pie Town
–
known for its home-made pies offered at two cafés, Datil
nestled in Datil Canyon, and before one reaches
Magdalena one can visit the VLA (Very Large Array) of
radio-astronomy dishes which are known world-wide. From
Socorro you can visit Bosque del Apache, the famous bird
sanctuary where thousand of birds arrive from the north
waiting out winter and nest in the spring. A true
birdwatchers’ delight! The Indian pueblo of Acoma, the
Malpais and the largest arch in New Mexico are also
nearby. This ranch is situated in the middle of
wonderful things to explore all-round!
