From Newbury Park neighborhood it is a 10 minute horse backride into Malibu.  You can also ride right to the beach from neighborhoods in Newbury Park.  One neighborhood is called Kelly Estates. Newbury Park does have a couple of pockets of horse property and there are trails all throughout the city.

Within the city of Newbury Park runs the Conejo Valley Trail System.  It connects to the Satwiwa park which is the park that takes you to the beach.  Several thousand acres at the north end of Malibu.  It also connects all the way over to Sycamore Canyon Campground.  There are also horse corrals and a campground within the Park that you can ride directly too.

Trails: One of the trails in the Conejo Valley Trail System is the Los Robles Trail. It winds from Potrero Road (near Wendy Drive) to Foothill Drive (near Hampshire Road). Along with its many connecting trails (Triunfo Canyon Trail, Rosewood Trail, White Horse Canyon Trail, Los Padres Trail, and more), it offers ample room for hikers,  and equestrians to share the open space.
